Get Ready For The 2019 Bicycle Ride Across Tennessee
Tennessee is a beautiful state, and there’s no better way to appreciate its scenic wonders than to take a ride out into the wild. You’ll have the opportunity to join a host of cycling enthusiasts this September for the 30th Annual Bicycle Ride Across Tennessee!

When and Where

The ride will commence at Natchez Trace State Park on Saturday, September 14 around 7 a.m. On Tuesday, September 17, riders will head to Montgomery State Park to ride until September 19. You can register to participate HERE. Registration begins on Friday, September 13 at 3 p.m. at the Natchez Trace State Park Pin Oak Lodge. The state park is located at 567 Pin Oak Lodge Road, Wildersville, Tennessee 38388.

Perks and Planning

The ride lasts for six days, and you may register for one, two, three, or six days total. With your registration, you will have access to the campgrounds at the participating state parks, which include six days of breakfast and dinner, hot showers, a commemorative 2019 BRAT shirt, maps, rest stops, medical access, security via Tennessee State Park Rangers, and bike mechanic access. In addition to the daily ride, you may enjoy special events like live music by the Brian Moffit Band, sunset pontoon boat rides, bird watching, yoga, primitive weapon and black powder demonstrations, beer samplings, hidden history sessions, a golf cart safari, and more.

The Night Before

If you’d like to arrive early, you’re welcome to camp at Natchez Trace on September 13. Over the afternoon, the organizers will throw a welcoming party, complete with food and drink by The Western Spur Restaurant. You can expect a light-hearted atmosphere as everyone gears up for the morning’s ride. That evening, naturalist Randy Hedgepath will give an exciting introduction to the lands featured on this year’s route. The next morning, breakfast will be served at 6 a.m., so eat heartily before embarking on the ride at 7 a.m.

The 2019 Ride

This year, riders will enjoy the picturesque settings of both the Natchez Trace and Montgomery Bell state parks. You’ll spend day after day biking through paradisaical Tennessee wilderness and farmland, passing through charming little towns, and cruising by the water’s edge as you encounter shimmering lakes and coursing rivers.

30 Years Strong

The 2019 ride marks BRAT’s 30th annual excursion, and in three decades, cyclists have praised the Tennessee tour as one of the safest, most enjoyable rides year after year. Tennessee is endowed with an incredible natural beauty, and the routes change each year to take advantage of the region’s diversity. While the BRAT is a popular adventure among state residents, riders come in from all across the U.S. to enjoy all that Tennessee has to offer.
